QUALIFICATION

• The athletes representing Quebec will be chosen in the summer of 2008.


• The qualifying event for the 6 athletes will be CORK in August 2008.


• The first eligible athlete(s) of the men’s Laser fleet, women’s Radial fleet, men’s 29er fleet, and women’s 29er fleet, will be chosen to represent the province.


• The selected athletes will be specifically supported before and during the Games.

The Quebec Sailing Federation is announcing the upcoming Canada Summer Games that will be held August 15-29 2009 in Prince Edward Island.

The event regroups the 6 best representatives in single and double handed boats of each province:

Men: 29er, Laser

Women: 29er, Laser Radial

• The representative athletes are required to be 21 years and younger on December 31st 2009 to be eligible to participate.


• Athletes must also be permanent residents of Quebec for at least 180 days before the event or be enrolled in a provincial academic institution as a full time student for 12 months before the Games.


• All athletes must be Canadian citizens.


• The team will also consist of one female and one male coach.
