At the ISAF World Championship in December of 2011, held in Perth, Clarke and Bjorn secured a spot for themselves in the Star Class for the London Olympics. After several days of races, the pair finished 10th in a fleet of 41 boats. For Canada, this result is a success, however Bjorn stated that they made some mistakes. Clarke and Bjorn will now be training with Brazilians Scheidt and Prada, who won the retatta, and have their sights on the top three spots at upcoming events.
Four other Quebec athletes participated in the ISAF regatta: Dominique Vallée (RS:X Women), Trevor Parekh and Matthieu Dubreucq (49er) and Martin Robitaille (Finn). At 19 years of age, Martin Robitaille was the youngest in his fleet and finished 41st out of 72.
